Anxiety Of My Adumbration

As I walk on down the path,
I look at my shadow with utter wrath.
My only disappointment that I couldn't catch,
My shadow that kept walking without a latch.
So liberated and unbound,
I stare at my shadow on the ground.
It silently says its grandeur is more than me,
only increasing my eternal agony.
I keep walking, walking straight,
As calm as the ferocious ocean,
Leading me to a place unknown and alien.
My journey to the end comes closer than before,
A boat named life is reaching ashore.
And as it comes closer my shadow depletes,
Beyond the shadows of doubt I become one and the process completes.
